Our '08 Shultz 16U team went 5-0 last weekend winning the Tri State Championship. Definitely have some things to work on, but not bad for our first tourney back together after high school ball. Going to be a fun summer!
Congrats to our 12u Brown team!
Yesterday started with a 5-7 loss in our first pool play game, but the girls battled through 4 more games to take Runner Up in a nail bitter Championship Game that went the distance.
Way to go girls and coaches!
Congrats to Kaylee Chanley, Adeline Shultz and Lilly Torres on our '08 Shultz team for making all conference teams for high school. Kaylee attends South Central, Adeline goes to Floyd Central and Lilly goes Borden. Way to go girls!
New Team Alert
We have a newly forming 8u team (2016 and 2017 birth year girls) for the upcoming season, with open rosters spots available. The team is based out of the New Albany/Floyds Knobs area.
Please help me welcome Jay Benson to our coaching staff. He will be the head coach of the new 8u team and will be a great addition to our program.
Jay has been coaching youth softball for the past 3 years at FKCC and NALL. He is a graduate of New Albany High School where he played varsity soccer for 4 years. Growing up he played baseball, basketball and soccer. He is excited for the opportunity to continue coaching youth softball for the Eclipse Organization. His goal for the girls is for them to learn how to be good teammates, have fun and work hard while building relationships and growing their passion for softball.
For more information shoot us a PM or reach out to Coach Benson at 812-989-2021
Congrats to our 10u Jones team. They played great on Saturday to come out of pool play the #1 seed. Unfortunately, games got rained out on Sunday to finish the tourney, but since they were the #1 seed, they walked away the Champions. Congrats girls and coaches. Hope the rain stays away for your next tourney.
Our 12u Brown team went 3-0 today, allowing only 2 runs for the day and brought home the hardware. Way to go girls!! All that winter practice is paying off.
Congrats to our '08 Shultz team for going 5-0-1 and winning the USSSA 16O Fall State tourney in Evansville. Each athlete on the team had a part in the success. The pitching staff finished the weekend with a combined ERA of 0.00! On the offensive side, they had 1 HR and 2 that bounced over and a team batting average of over .400! Keep grinding girls! Next up...Scenic City in Chattanooga, TN.

Congrats
to our '14 Rench team and our Harrod HSD team as they both came in second place last weekend. Our '08 Shultz team went 5-2 and finished in 3rd. Great wins all around for the all the dads on Father's day!
Our '08 Shultz Eclipse team is mixed with half the girls being freshman and playing high school ball while the other half is still in 8th grade. The younger girls still wanted to have a spring season while the rest of the girls were off playing with their high school team. So, we joined forces with another travel team, Diamond Dynamics Select, and added a couple other local girls in the same situation with their teams. The girls just wanted to play. We entered 5 tournaments, and finished with 2 first place finishes, 2 second place finishes and one tournament that didn't finish due to weather. The girls all meshed so well, and we a had a great couple months getting to know each other. I can for sure say, we will miss everyone, but we now have more friends we will see around the ballpark. We wish all the girls the best of luck as they go back to playing with their normal travel teams for the rest of the summer.
April 22nd/23rd 1st place finish at Angels for Autism tournament
May 13th/14th 1st place finish

April 6, 2021
Congrats to both our '09 Walter and '06 Lord teams for coming out the champions in their one day tourneys last weekend. Keep working hard girls!!
Our '08 Shultz team didn't walk away last weekend with a trophy or a ring. In fact, we lost in the semi championship game of the gold bracket, to the eventual champions, but we will remember this tourney for likely much longer than we will remember many of our actual tourney wins. We put our skills to the test and got better last weekend. We played challenging tough teams, and got to show our girt, heart, determination and perseverance on the field. Both of our games on Sunday, went into international tie-breaker innings, and each game lasted almost 2 hours. The first game, we pulled out the win, 8-6. The second game, against a very competitive A level team, went not one, not two, but THREE extra innings! These girls showed not only their physical toughness but also their mental strength. Five-four was the final score. The scoreboard showed we lost, but we WON in so many other ways.
Several of our Eclipse coaches are extending their love of coaching and passion for softball to the local middle school teams this year in addition to coaching their travel ball teams. Billy Myrick, from our Eclipse '06 team will be coaching the North Harrison middle school team. Mike Lord, also from our '06 Eclipse team, will be coaching the Corydon middle school team. Kelly Shultz, George Shultz, and Robert Duckworth from our Eclipse '08 team will be coaching the Floyd Middle School teams, as well as Jason Walter from our '09 Eclipse team. Best wishes to these coaches and their middle school players for a fantastic season!
